Rules for Issue of Visas

1. Visa applicants have to apply for Indian Visa online, with effect from 15 October, 2014. Applicants have to go to the following link to apply for Indian Visa: http://indianvisaonline.gov.in/

2. Applicants are required to upload their latest frontal face photos with white background while submitting visa application online. If not uploaded, they have to provide it as per the specifications.

3. No applications will be accepted by post/courier, visa fee will be accepted in cash only.

4. Applicants must take the printout of the system generated application form (which begins with NAMWV00-- -- -),attach two passport size photographs, signature the form, and submit it PERSONALLY at the High Commission of India along with the required documents and relevant Visa Fee.

Biometric Enrolment: With effect from 1 st January, 2016, the High Commission has started biometric enrolment for visa applicants. Biometric data collection, includes, fingerprint and facial imagery will be a mandatory requirement for all visa applicants. After submitting the applications, the applicants thereafter be physically present the High Commission of India, which may be different from the date of deposit of the application depending upon the time of submission of visa applications. The Government of India has exempted children under the age of 12 years and adults above 70 years from the requirement of biometrics.

Check List:

(a) Passport valid for a minimum of six months (with at least 2 blank pages) beyond the date of intended departure from India should accompany visa applications.

(b) It may be noted that Applicants are also required to attach two passport size photographs with the System Generated application form to be submitted in person at the High Commission of India.

(c) Applicants must note that the Visa application has to be made ONLINE first via the link given above, and thence a system generated application form printout is to be submitted with necessary enclosures and fees at the High Commission of India by the applicant IN PERSON.

Applicants holding other nationalities (other than the country where applying for visa), should submit proof of long-term (at least three years)/ permanent residence in the country (where applying). For citizen of other countries, a reference has to be made to their country of residence and it will involve extra processing time.

Important Note:- When you are applying for online and complete the first page, the system will flash a number, with a dialog to note/write down, which you please note down, in case your internet connection has lost, system held up etc., than next time you go online but this time go for partially filled application with this number.
